This has been a very hard week, too hot for me. Second hot week in a row, and finding it difficult. Good thing that it seems to have got better and we are back to normal temperature.
I have spent a lot of time at the cinema (air-conditioned) and at home with my four fans going full blast!
So here goes my steps from Saturday, August 15 to Friday August 21
Saturday, 6,000 steps
Sunday, 8,500 steps, 30mm walking at aerobic pace, was coming out of a cinema, with a bottle of water in my hand ![]()
Monday, one-hour Feldenkrais class. 5,000 steps
Tuesday, 8,542 steps
Wednesday, 10,000 steps, hottest day in the week, at 7:30p.m it was hotter in Paris than it was in New Delhi! 35°c
Thursday, another very hot day, decided to stay at home. Welcomed Mounir, my daughter’s cat, an ageing Scottish Fold
Mounir, between two naps
Friday, 9,000 steps

Wow, that’s 95 F. I’m impressed that you did anything at all! Terrific record. Was it very humid? I am guessing it must have been fairly dry or it would have been impossible to do 10,000 steps that day! Thank goodness for cinemas!

Pretty dry on the whole. And I did the walking in the evening. The best thing of course, would be to do it early in the morning, but I’m just too lazy.

Me too! I have never been at my best in the morning…I would rather begin the day slowly…

I agree with Sara–thank heavens for air conditioned cinemas! This sounds like a good week Claude in spite of heat.
I too tell myself that I should exercise in the a.m. but it rarely happens.

Maybe we should try to become morning people? LOL This will never happen. I do wake up early and I remember one heat wave one year, when I did go and play golf with a wet towel across my shoulders (very elegant indeed!), but that was some ten years ago, and I don’t know what went into me then! I couldn’t face it these days. Takes me too long to get going

I wish I could get my walking up to your level of walking. It is good that you go out and walk in the evenings; getting some oxygen in your system for the night.

i think you did remarkably well despite the heat. At least it’s cooler this week – almost Autumnal!
Mounir looks lovely and is, hopefully, very well behaved.
My cats wake me up very early to be let out but I’m afraid I go back to sleep.
