Not much fast walking or fast biking this week. But lots of playing with my new toy.
I started this week differently, as I don’t want to replace fast walking or biking with Wii Fit aerobics, but add to my programme.
June 16, pedometer said 9,000 steps and I had a one-hour Feldenkrais session.
June 17th, pedometer: 11,000 steps, 35 mn aerobics on the Wii Fit
June 18th, pedometer: 14,000 steps, 31 mn aerobics on Wii Fit
June 19: pedometer said 8,000 steps, 35mn Wii Fit
June 20: Pedometer: only 5,000 steps, 35 mn aerobic son the Wii Fit,
June 21: only 5,000 steps but 32mn fast biking, and 35mn aerobics on the Wii Fit
June 22: 8,000 steps, 35mn aerobics on Wii Fit.

  • I figure you must be exercising two or more hours a day! Do you enjoy doing it, or is it still hard to work up enthusiasm? Do you live in an area around Paris where going outdoors is fun? I remember watching a video of you walking and someone mentioning all the cigarette butts on the ground. I can remember whether there was any pathways or was it all just sidewalks…

  • I do enjoy it, but although Paris is beautiful to walk around and to take photos, I can’t say that there are really pathways, only sidewalks. Except if you go into a park or a garden, which is why fast walking isn’t all that easy! You’re always crossing a street and have to navigate through a crowd of people. But I manage it anyway.
As for working up enthusiasm, it depends. Some days, I just can’t get myself to do much and others are easy.

  • Congrats on the excellent step numbers. And it’s great that your aerobic minutes are good too.

Seeing this where it’s first thing in the morning in Kansas, USA, inspires me to go do some huffing and puffing too. On the menu today is the indoor bike trainer. I hope to put in an hour at a high enough gear to get the heart beating with some vigor.

Best good wishes from sunny Kansas,
    Ron

  • Wow!!!! You’re becoming an exercising machine, Claude!!!! You are making me feel guilty with my puny efforts.

Then again, I’m still having shoulder problems so I’d best take care. Sigh.

  • Claude you must be on the way to being superfit. Well done.
Do you know I saw the balance machine on TV last night. What a coincidence. It was being assessed on the ‘Gadget Programme’ . The lady presenter used it for 6 weeks and had a fitness test ‘before and after’. Her improvement was impressive! I looked up your links for information but it was great to see it in action lke this. Funnily enough she also used a Nintendo brain training game during the same period with equally good results.

  • I like the Nintendo brain training game too, but basically, I like all sorts of games. Make it playful and fun and you got me! I never caught on to swimming because of eternal laps! No variety. That was when I was young, now I just find that I don’t like swimming pools because they’re wet :)
